The Mediconanet.pt website was born from a combination of experience, perception and innovation.

It is a concept of health services, which already exists in several countries and which we have now adapted to the reality of Portugal.

The founders of this project have more than 20 years of experience in primary healthcare, having worked both in the National Health Service (SNS) and in the private sector, in Portugal and other European countries.

Based on this experience, especially in the area of Remote Medicine, we have developed several innovative service proposals.

We understand that a large proportion of health problems can be resolved quickly and easily. Not all cases require the complexity of a face-to-face consultation, the inconvenience of going to an emergency department or carrying out several diagnostic tests.

Sometimes all we need is a brief action from a Doctor.

Sometimes we just need speed. And security. And discretion.

At Medico na Net, we believe that your health deserves personalised attention. That's why we put your health problem in the hands of an experienced professional as quickly as possible. No call centres, automated responses or artificial intelligence. Just the dedicated support of our doctors.

The speed of our service is guaranteed by consultations based on questionnaires drawn up and reviewed by doctors, which allow for individualised screening. If our service is not safe or suitable for you, you will always receive an alternative action plan.

Biography

Dr Igor Faria has over 16 years' experience as a doctor and a career marked by a commitment to care and proximity to his patients. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) in 2008 and specialised in General Practice in 2014, achieving the title of Graduate Assistant in 2023. With a postgraduate qualification in Sports Medicine, he combines his clinical knowledge with the promotion of health and well-being in different contexts.

Throughout her career, she has been part of emergency medical teams and ongoing support, namely in the VMER in Viana do Castelo between 2010 and 2022 and in monitoring Residential Structures for the Elderly (ERPI) from 2014 to the present. Her experience and training reflect a broad interest in areas such as Geriatrics, Preventive Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Cardiology and Sports Medicine, guaranteeing comprehensive care tailored to the needs of each patient.

Her approach is based on empathy, active listening and an integrative vision of medical care. She believes that humour can be an essential tool in the doctor-patient relationship, making consultations lighter and more accessible. At Médico na Net, her main goal is to help those who can't find a solution in the National Health Service, providing a service that is accessible, humane and focused on the autonomy and well-being of her patients.

Outside of medicine, he devotes himself to his family, sport and personal development, believing that a balance between body and mind is essential for a fulfilling life. Guided by values such as beneficence, autonomy, sincerity, integrity and justice, he sees every consultation as an opportunity to help, guide and make a difference. Dr Alexandra Azevedo

Biography

Dr Alexandra Azevedo graduated in Medicine from the University of Barcelona in 2015, where she subsequently specialised in General Practice. During her training, she developed a strong interest in the approach to chronic pain, having completed an integrated master's degree in Medicine and Surgery with clinical research into pain management. Her professional experience includes several years of clinical practice in Spain, particularly in Catalonia, where she has had contact with a wide variety of pathologies and challenges, both in the emergency department and in primary healthcare.

She currently works as a family doctor at the ULS Braga. She has been a member of the medical-surgical emergency team at Vila Nova de Famalicão Hospital and has worked as a guest lecturer at the Nursing School of the University of Minho, teaching anatomy and physiology of the circulatory, respiratory and digestive systems.

Her main clinical interests include emergency medicine, chronic pain, depression and anxiety, as well as preventive medicine and the control of vascular risk factors. She is also dedicated to anti-smoking counselling and weight loss counselling, helping her patients to adopt healthier lifestyle habits. Her approach to care is based on a holistic vision, considering health as a balance between physical and psychological well-being.

Dr Alexandra stands out for her humanism and her ability to offer quick and effective solutions to minor problems, ensuring that her patients feel well looked after. At Médico na Net, she sees an opportunity to bring healthcare to more people in an accessible and convenient way.

Dr Mafalda graduated in Medicine from the University of Santiago de Compostela, completing her studies in 2013. Since then, she has specialised in General Practice and has accumulated 12 years' experience in patient care in various healthcare institutions. She complemented her training with a postgraduate qualification in Sports Medicine and Aesthetic Medicine, allowing her to offer more comprehensive care adapted to the different needs of her patients.

Dr Joana Araújo is a doctor who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP)where she completed her Integrated Master's Degree in Medicine in 2018. She is currently a member of the Alto Minho Local Health UnitHe has provided care in various units, such as the USF Mais Saúde, USF Vale do Lima, SAP Caminha, ECCI Caminha and UCSP Ponte de Lima. He also collaborates with Trofa Health and with ULS Westthrough the company CELVI.

With a multidisciplinary vision of health, Dr Joana complemented her training with two postgraduate degrees from FMUPone in Clinical Nutrition and another in Sports Medicinebecause I believe that diet and exercise are fundamental pillars for a full and balanced life.

In his consultations, he adopts a personalised, person-centred approachusing the active listeningrespecting the individuality of each patient and promoting their autonomy in health-related decisions. It pays special attention to prevention of cardiovascular diseases, mental health (such as anxiety and depression) and the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits.

Dr Joana believes that medicine goes far beyond illnessAbove all, it's about understanding and accompanying people in their different stages of life. This is reflected in moments that have marked her deeply - from a child who returns to the consultation with a flower for "her doctor friend", to an elderly person who is grateful for the improvement in their quality of life, or a couple who have found support in starting a new family.

Outside of medicine, Dr Joana finds balance in surfinga passion he has cultivated for 6 years, and has a special connection with the sea since childhood. He is also dedicated to volunteeringcollaborating with the Food Bank and with projects to integrate foreign students into Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo. A music and reading are also a constant presence in his daily life.

With a Postgraduate Programme in Palliative CareDr Margarida also has a special sensitivity for accompanying patients in the most delicate stages of life, promoting the relief of suffering and dignity in the care she provides.

In addition to her clinical practice, she also stands out for her active participation in the dissemination of health knowledge, having published the article "Myths and Truths about Intermittent Fasting" in the magazine Health Visioncontributing to the population's health literacy.

General Practice is the medical speciality that monitors people's health throughout their lives, from birth to old age. It cares for the whole person, with attention, proximity and continuity of care.

My approach to patient care is centred on the whole person, seeking not only to treat illnesses but also to prevent them. I place great importance on listening, trust and continuous follow-up over time. I value prevention, early diagnosis and health education.

My main goal in providing care through Médico na Net is to offer accessible, practical and quality health care, even from a distance.

Outside of my medical work, I really value the time I devote to my family, which I consider essential for my personal balance. I also practise sport regularly, as I believe it contributes to maintaining physical and mental health.
