FAQ'S

If you have an important event or upcoming vacation and want to delay your period, we can help you with that. The way the pills work is because they contain a synthetic version of the hormone progesterone. Periods begin every month due to a decrease in progesterone levels. If you keep your hormone levels high, you can delay your period for up to 17 days. If our clinical team believes this treatment is suitable for you, we may prescribe tablets for you.

The treatment works by ensuring that hormone levels do not decrease, and therefore the period will not occur until 2-3 days after stopping taking the medication to delay the period. The period normally appears when progesterone levels decrease, and treatment prevents this process from happening.

You will need to use other contraceptive methods, such as condoms, during period delay treatment, as this treatment is not a form of contraception.

The duration of postponing the period during treatment may vary depending on the type of treatment used. In general, many period postponement treatments allow you to delay your period for a week to several weeks, but the specific duration may depend on the medication or method used. It is important to follow your doctor's instructions or prescribed treatment guidelines to get accurate information about how long your period will be delayed.

Although it is unlikely, we cannot rule out the possibility that some people may experience side effects during treatment. Side effects will vary depending on the medicine you are prescribed. Side effects may include headaches, nausea, bloating and fluid retention. If you start to feel unwell during treatment, you should stop taking the medicine and discuss it with your GP or our clinical team.

The treatment provided is safe, as long as it guarantees that the questionnaire is filled out honestly and does not present risk factors.
